Treatment

ART is a precise Manual Soft Tissue Therapy Technique that identifies and treats “Adhesions” found in the muscle, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

ART has become a very popular and sought our treatment for both recreational and elite athletes. Developed by a Doctor of Chiropractic (Dr. M. Laehy), ART is an extremely effective approach to releasing persistent “Adhesions” at the cause of common complaints such as headaches, neck & shoulder pain, low back & hip pain, even carpal tunnel in the hand or plantar fasciitis in the foot.

Dr. Panetta is a Certified ART provider and includes ART as part of his treatment of sports and spinal injuries.

Active Release Technique (ART)

Spinal Manipulation is a highly skilled technique, provide by a licensed Chiropractor who applies a gentle controlled impulse to improve joint motion, decrease muscle tension and restore normal nerve function to the spine. There has been more research on Spinal Manipulation (SMT) that any other form of therapy for Low Back Pain and both Canadian and International Guidelines for the treatment of Neck and Back Pain recommend Spinal Manipulation as one of the first options for care.

Modalities/Physical Therapies

Some patients are surprised to learn that BKTracks treatments often include modalities/physical therapies such as Ultrasound therapy, Electrotherapy (IFC or Tens) and Laser therapy. Recommended in the early stages of treatment (i.e. Acute Phase), modalities help to decrease inflammation, muscle spasm and provide patients temporary relief to transition patients to more advanced treatment such as; manual therapy, mobilization, manipulation and rehabilitation.

Manual Soft Tissue Therapy (MSTM) describes a number of manual therapy techniques which all share one single objective “to release tension and restore normal function to muscle/soft tissue.” While the names and protocols for each MSTM technique vary; BKTracks Specialists maintain continuing education and training in the most current assessment and manual treatments for muscle/soft tissue injuries. What you might not know is that MSTM has been part of Chiropractic care for over 100 years.

Flexion Distraction/
Mobilization

Flexion Distraction Technique is a chiropractic technique designed specifically for the treatment of the low back or Lumbar Disc Syndromes (i.e. Disc bulges or Disc herniation). This approach combines the careful application of Mobilization with the specialized features of a Flexion-Distraction Table. This combination of manual therapy and traction type table provides the patient with a gently rhythmically Mobilization of the Lumbar Spinal Joints, stretching the Spinal Muscles, decreases pressure on the Spinal Discs, and releases tension/pain on the delicate Spinal Nerves. If you have been diagnosed with a Lumbar Disc Bulge or Disc Herniation, contact our clinic for an assessment and treatment by Flexion Distraction Technique.
